Dear Andy and all at HESFES - thanks very much for a lovely time. We came for the whole week and this was our first HESFES. We enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciated all the hard work that had gone into making the festival happen - running something like this is always fraught with problems but we thought you did very well.

Dear Andy and all your hard working team THANKYOU so much for an amazing week we had such a lovely time the workshops were fun, the theatre, puppets and circus were exciting, the toilets were clean, the showers were hot, the teenagers didn't scare my children, the sun shone, the kids made lots of new friends and the cafe sold great cake - what more could we ask for :0) we really did have a brilliant time. it was our first hesfes and (despite a bad allergic reaction to horse fly bites that ment i couldn't use my hands challenging whilst trying to secure our tent to weather the winds)

I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Andy and the Hesfes Crew 2010, we had a fantastic Hesfes this year and wanted to let you know how much all your hard work and effort is appreciated. Hesfes is one of the highlights of our year, and each one just seems to get better and better.

Just to say thank you to all of you who organised HESFES. I'm Andy who works with Anna doing the mask making, my daughter is Sage.
I thought 2010 was the best yet. Great site with lots of space, Great larger marquees, no waiting for toilets and minimal wait for showers (lights in some still not working like last year!) Cafe much better and I'll definitely use it more next year. High quality workshops and presenters and great mix of films including some challenging ones. The fact that that ED Otherwise is separate works well and gave me the chance to network re HE……
Also, the fact that it is a festival and not policed like a prison is a tribute to you as the organisers... You set the scene for the inspirational outpouring of humanity that HESFES is. A neighbour who camped near me and who comes with his non-home educated kids said that teh HESFES kids had a grace about them.... You don't hear that word elsewhere..

I want to email to say thanks for yet another successful, fun, lovely HesFes. You people rock!! We had a great time.
Things that were brilliant:
The welcome - the best hugs, warm smiles, the nicest volunteer crew in the world!
the site - that is flat, lots of space, nice area, trees, river, lovely. (Sea would be nice but the flatness etc makes up for it!)
The bands - good quality, great bands, good attitudes.
The new cafe - good when it was open, hours a bit weird, and where did the van go?!
The people - friendly lovely folk, great to see friends again.
Blue Laguna - great agaian.
Actvities - mine didnt do em now but it was great to see new stuff on the menu if you had youngsters.
Local shops - everything you need.
Onsite clothes shop
HesFes hoodies and shirts - time to design, arrange them etc. ………
The choice of music tents at night.
Outdoor films.
AV tent.
Teen tent. (Although some music was not to our teens taste, but improved after the d.j.s left)
Initally I thought the portaloos had.
Access to the site - safer from the roundabout.
I love HesFes, been going since 2001, I fully apprecaite you all Steve, Gemma, Andy and the rest do every year before and during…..
We love you guys, you are brill :) HesFes is the highlight of our year, thank you again for all you do. Please let us know if you will be doing anything to change the toilet/ shower situation,

A huge thank you to you Andy and your crew for making this Hes Fes one of the most chilled I have been to. Even the wind couldn't dent our spirits. Loved the band on the last night. Could we have them on for longer next time? The toilets were fine apart from one blip when they didn't get emptied, but on the whole they did a good job. Loved it, loved it Andy. Can't wait till the next one.

How do you describe the magic of HesFes? The feeling of warmth, love and acceptance, the fun, and the laughter. This one week of the year is held in a special place in our hearts, eagerly anticipated each spring and remembered with joy throughout the year.

Thank you for yet another fantastic week of fun, friends and field. I enjoyed every minute of it, and so did Chloe. I liken HesFes to Saturnalia, a chance to do the opposite of my usual life. It does me good and I can get back to the world refreshed and exhilarated.
You people did such a brilliant job at preparing and organising everything. I don't know how you do it, but please keep doing it!

Dear Andy and all the HESFES 2010 Crew. Just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU for yet another great HESFES! This was our third one and, despite our 7 year old being sick in our tent at 3am one morning, we had a fabulous time as always! Amazing array of workshops, loved the site and the atmosphere and thought that having slightly more marquees which were ‘themed’ was a great idea. Even the sad death of our gazebo to the strong winds didn’t dampen our spirits! Looking forward to 2011 and would always be happy to lend a hand if ever needed. Catherine, Darren & Jacob xx (Sussex)
